The biopic’s main and highly coveted role of Lucille Ball herself went to the one and only Cate Blanchett, as reports claim that the actress went on to sign up for the job just days ago.
The Oscar-winner seems to be the right person for the gig, and she’s pretty excited about it.
Another seemingly perfect person for another position on the project is Aaron Sarkin, as the pre-production teams views him as the right man for the script writing job.
This gig will, however, be a little different from Sarkin’s previous works, as he usually focused on projects that are more male-centric. Fans have not been quiet about this, as they have been sharing their thoughts on various Internet platforms. They are mostly worried that Sorkin’s “angry male energy” won’t really fit into Lucille’s story… And frankly, they’re probably right. Sarkin has to bring his work to a whole new level, that’s for sure.
Although worldwide fans aren’t excited about the writer working on the project, they are however thrilled about the main role cast. Blanchett, the famed and noted Oscar-winning Australian actress, has worked on some biopics before, and she proved that she has an endless amount of talent.
The planned biopic has been authorized by Lucille Ball’s children (whom she had with Desi Arnaz during their 20 year marriage), Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr. It will revolve around her life while making some of her immensely popular shows like I Love Lucy, and The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour.
