Rowan Atkinson & Sunetra Sastry To Officially Divorce After 24 Years Of Marriage

November 10, 2015

Rowan Atkinson and Sunetra Sastry separated almost 2 years ago and are about to officially end their marriage, 24 years after tying the knot.

Mr. Bean actor has been dating comedy actress Louise Ford since he broke things off with Sunetra.

According to Hello! magazine, Sunetra was granted a decree nisi by a district judge at the Central Family Court in London.

As English law states, a decree nisi is an order by a court of law stating the date on which a marriage will end unless a good reason not to grant a divorce is produced. As ITV reports, Atkinson was not present at the official hearing.

Deeply Upset

The former couple met while they were both working for BBC, where Sunetra was working as a makeup artist. They married in February 1990 and have two children together – daughter Lily and son Benjamin.

Shortly after the two parted ways, Rowan started dating his current girlfriend, Louise Ford, whom he met while starring in comic play “Quartermaine’s Terms” back in 2013.

“Sunetra was deeply upset to be replaced by such a younger woman,” a source close to Rowan’s estranged wife told The Sun.
