What a tragedy. On Monday, December 8th, rapper Earl Hayes and his wife dancer/actress Stephanie Moseley were found dead inside the Park La Brea luxury residences in L.A., it was confirmed in a statement by The Los Angeles Police Department.
“When officers arrived at the apartment complex they heard additional shots being fired. LAPD’s SWAT officers responded to the location and discovered two victims inside the apartment suffering from gunshot wounds. The initial investigation revealed that 34-year-old Earl Warren Hayes shot his wife, 30-year-old Stephanie Elyse Moseley to death and then took his own life. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced both Mr. Hayes and Ms. Moseley dead at the scene,” the statement read.
The bodies were identified by Burrel Wilks, a close friend and “life coach” of Hayes. According to him, the two were married. Police were called to the scene at about 7:30am, after up to 10 gunshots and a woman’s screams were heard by a resident.
According to sources connected with Hayes, the rapper separated from Stephanie roughly two years ago because of her alleged affair with singer Trey Songz, known as “Mr Steal Your Girl.” Songz earned the nickname from a song on his sixth album Trigga, in which he bragged about stealing other people’s girlfriends and wives and sleeping with them.
The couple reconciled, but a source revealed that Hayes was crushed and never got over it. He is said to have continuously brought up the affair and accused his wife of having multiple flings with various other entertainers.
Hours after the news of the deaths broke, Songz tweeted: “R.I.P babygirl. Once an angel on earth, now watching over us from Heaven. You’ll b missed but never forgotten. Love.”
Moseley featured on VH1’s drama series Hit the Floor, while Hayes was previously signed to his close friend Floyd Mayweather’s record label. Last month, Hayes posted a photo at a Lakers game with Mayweather, Fabolous, and The Game.
Reportedly, professional boxer Mayweather was a witness to the murder-suicide and heard everything after Hayes called him in a rage over his wife’s alleged infidelity! When the rapper said he was going to kill his wife, Mayweather pleaded with him not to, but it sadly had no impact.
A Vancouver native, Stephanie moved to Japan at the age of 17, where her career began. Apart from starring as Arelly on the VH1 drama series, Moseley has appeared in movies like Mirror Mirror, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, and The Best Thanksgiving Ever.
Her born-in dance talent helped her find her true passion as a high-profile dancer, and allowed her to work with numerous A-list performers including Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Pharrell, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, and Beyonce.
Along with many other celebrities, Chris Brown shared an old photo with Moseley, with the caption “RIP baby girl. Danced with me on tour and was always the coolest person. My prayers go out to you and HAZE family.”
