Freddie said that he hated working with the acclaimed actor and called him the “most unprofessional dude in the world.”
And he didn’t stop there! Prinze Jr. also said that his experience on the hit TV show “24” was so awful, he wanted to quit acting altogether.
“I did ’24’ … it was terrible. I hated every moment of it. I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped. “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash; I’d say it to his face. I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.”
Not only does Freddie still resent Kiefer and the whole “24” crew, he still pretty much hates him. Like, really hates him. He even made remarks on Kiefer’s height by saying: “I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE, for Christ’s sake … but, at least he was cool and tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do [at 24]. Just put the guy on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m 6 feet and he’s 5’4.”
Freddie Prinze Jr. has a theory on why is Kiefer Sutherland so impossible to work with. He claimed that Sutherland would regularly show up on set pretty drunk, after sitting in his trailer letting everyone wait for hours on set.
It messed with the lives of the family cast and crew. Those are some pretty harsh remarks and one concludes that 4 years aren’t enough to cool down from Mr. Sutherland.
Also, Kiefer is said to be temperamental and that getting people that he didn’t like fired was not strange to him.
Some sources revealed that Freddie was supposed to take over the series and that he was being prepared to do so, but he couldn’t handle the living nightmare in which he found himself. Maybe that’s why Kiefer was so mean? Who knows?
FOX Network official made a statement claiming that Freddie’s accusations were bogus and that Kiefer was nothing short of professional. He also added “It’s so out of left field, 5 years later. We wouldn’t have done another ’24’ if Kiefer were anything like Freddie described.”
