It seems that the lines are not so blurred anymore. In spite of Robin Thicke’s desperate pleas, pathetic public displays of remorse and sentimental stunts, his soon-to-be ex-wife filed for divorce. After being separated for eight months, Paula Patton has called it quits!

The papers were filed last week in Los Angeles, in which Paula cited the oh-so-popular “irreconcilable differences.”

The 37-year-old Robin Thicke and his 28-year-old estranged actress wife have known each other and dated since they were teens.

They eventually got married in 2005 and had their first child in 2010. The couple announced in February that they mutually decided to separate and co-parent son, Julian Fuego.

Since they went their separate ways, Thicke made a string of attempts to win back Patton’s heart.

He made public apologies, wrote songs like “Get Her Back,” and filmed an intimate music video for the song, which resulted in thousands and thousands of people grinding their teeth uncomfortably.

Allegedly, the reason for the breakup seems to be Thicke’s infidelity. He even addressed the scandal in a radio interview, saying “I’m a man. I messed up, and I had to lie for awhile. And then I stopped lying. And that was actually good for me, because I was tired of lying. So this whole album is me revealing everything.”

Paula Patton had been largely quiet about the couple’s status. She commented on her and Robin’s relationship on one occasion, though, for a Vanity Fair interview. When asked if her relationship with the singer has come to an end, she said: “We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there — always was, and always will be.”

Hollywood: A place where very little skill can land you millions, can make your head into a hot air balloon, and a “long” marriage is 5 years.
