Nothing lasts forever, and famous author Nicholas Sparks is our latest proof of that fact. After 25 year of “happily ever after,” he announced that he’s getting divorced from his wife Cathy.
In a statement for E! News, said Sparks: “Cathy and I have separated. This is, of course, not a decision we’ve made lightly. We remain close friends with deep respect for each other and love for our children. For our children’s sake, we regard this as a private matter.”
In an interview with People magazine in 2003, he said: “I don’t like to give marriage tips. There are people who are probably much better at marriage than I am—they’ve lasted a lot longer. I could probably learn from them.”
Among many of his novels, Sparks is best known for “Message in Bottle,” “The Last Song,” “Safe Haven,” and “The Choice.”
Sparks’ soon ex-wife, Cathy is a former lending-company account executive, and was the main inspiration for most of his novels.
The couple got married in 1989, and since then they had three sons and twin daughters, whose age goes from 23 to 12.
