In contrary to beliefs of skeptics all around the globe, famous Hollywood actor and the most eligible man ever, also known as George Clooney, got married on Saturday! Clooney’s representatives confirmed that Clooney married celebrity attorney, human rights activist and all-around power-woman Amal Alamuddin.

The lovely pair exchanged their vows in Venice, Italy, at the Aman Canal Grande luxury resort.

They were married by Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome.

The symbolic ceremony was attended by their friends and family, as well as the biggest names in show business like Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Cindy Crawford, Anna Wintour and many others.

The 53-year-old Clooney actually shared wedding details while accepting a Humanitarian Award at Celebrity Fight Night in Tuscany earlier this month, saying “I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places. I would just like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much and I can’t wait to be your husband.”

The 36-year-old Alamuddin arrived in Milan a few days prior to the wedding, looking amazing and beaming with happiness. She was seen walking through the airport with a large box, a suitcase and a Stella McCartney bag.

This is Amal’s first marriage and George’s second. He was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993. He had several serious relationships, which all ended as soon as wedding rumors started to fly around, with former model Sarah Larson, Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis and professional wrestler Stacy Kiebler.

George asked for Amal’s hand in marriage in April this year, after dating each other for seven months, since October 2013.

The civil ceremony is expected to take place at the 16-th century Palazzo Cavalli, Venice’s town hall.
