Michael Jackson Used To Prank-Call Russell Crowe

April 1, 2015

It’s fitting that Russell Crowe revealed that the late Michael Jackson prank-called him for three years so close to April fools’ day, especially since the two have never met, but Jackson’s silly sense of humor is definitely something many people remember him by.

Crowe shared in an interview with The Guardian that Jackson used to call him during hotel stays “for two or three f***ing years.”

It’s unclear how the pop star managed to pull this prank off for so long.

“I never met him, never shook his hand, but he found out the name I stayed in hotels under, so it didn’t matter where I was, he’d ring up and do this kind of thing, like you did when you were 10, you know.”

The conversations that Jackson and Crowe had were goofy and childish, as actor recalls.

“[Jackson would ask] ‘Is Mr. Wall there? Is Mrs. Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what’s holding the roof up?’” He adds, “You’re supposed to grow out of doing that, right?”

Russell Crowe is currently promoting his latest movie “The Water Diviner” which will be released in theatres on April 3.
