Last time we heard about Janet Jackson, she announced a new album and a world tour in May 2015, but since then, there have been no news about her. That’s why everyone was pleasantly surprised at this year’s BET Awards, when the legendary pop singer made an appearance and took home an award.
On Sunday, during the final show of the BET Awards, the 49-year-old singer was presented with the Ultimate Icon Music Dance Visual Award.
Despite the award being a mouthful, Jackson was thankful for it.
While talking to the present crowd, Janet said: “It’s been a very long journey. My heart is so full. Thank you God for making everything possible. I am so grateful for the support you’ve always given me.”
Then she continued to thank her family, mainly Katherine and Joe Jackson, who have been in the audience: “To my beautiful mother and father and to my entire family. Your love is unbreakable.”
Janet Jackson actually took the stage after Tinashe, Jason Derulo, and Ciara payed a tribute to Jackson’s impeccable talent and successful career.
The singer added: “Last but not least, to my loving husband and to all the fans. I’ve missed you so much and I love you so much.”
Aside from the kind words, Janet’s fans can look forward to her new album and world tour, which we’re supposed to hear about in the near future.
