After famed neo-soul artist Erykah Badu dissed her at the 2015 Soul Train Awards on November 29th, the rapper returned to Twitter after a brief hiatus to talk about the diss.
The rapper, whose birth name is Amethyst Kelly, tweeted: “Hi guys, I know it’s been a while. We are days from 2016, but I came online today and saw it’s still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL, f***ing hell. Seems exhausting. Anyway – I’ve been enjoying the holiday season and I hope you all have too.”
After this tweet, the “Fancy” singer continued on tweeting about her future music engagements and heart-to-heart talks with her fans for hours.
Badu, who hosted the show, shaded the 25-year-old on Sunday, when she pretended to take a phone call from Azalea, saying “Oh no, you can definitely come. Because what you’re doing is definitely not rap.”
The audience went wild at the 44-year-old Queen Of Neo-Soul’s blatant diss, and of course, so did the internet. Numerous memes, tweets, and statuses about the shade-throwing took over social media platforms, and things are still not calming down.
