Famous Chefs Rekindle Old Feud: Ramsay and Oliver Back At Each Other’s Throats

March 30, 2015

Celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver rekindle their old feud as they both open rivaling restaurants in Hong Kong. Ramsey recently opened a Bread Street Kitchen restaurant, only to criticize rival Jamie Oliver who quickly followed suit and opened Jamie’s Italian in the same Asian city.

The 48-year-old Scottish chef commented on Oliver’s not showing up at the opening of Jamie’s Italian. “If you’re going to open a restaurant in Hong Kong, at least turn up,” Ramsay said.

The 39-year-old was quick to retaliate by concluding Ramsay is “deeply jealous” of his success.

“Gordon will do anything to try and take the p— out of me because he is deeply jealous and can’t quite work out why I do what I do and why he can’t do that,” Oliver told the Daily Mail.

“He is too busy shouting and screaming and making our industry look like a bunch of shouters and screamers.”

Oliver is currently on a mission to turn the attention of the G20 countries to child obesity, suggesting they introduce a food education program in schools. His petition so far has received close to 70,000 signatures.
