Enrique Iglesias Arrested For Two Misdemeanors

July 2, 2015

By now we got pretty used to pop singer Enrique Iglesias doing controversial stuff and behaving like a bad boy. But this new incident is too much, even for him.

As E! News reports, the Florida Highway Patrol arrested Iglesias and Abel Tabuyo after a trooper managed to stop their white Cadillac SUV on Interstate 95. The car was in a closed express lane, but the real drama starts when the police pulled them over onto a shoulder of the road.

According to the arrest affidavit, the singer “jumped from inside the driver’s seat onto the rear passenger’s seat.” This was followed with Tabuyo “jumping from the front passenger’s seat onto the driver’s seat.”

Although the arresting officer wasn’t fooled by this ingenious seat switch, Iglesias still proceeded to “immediately climb into the right front passenger seat.” Once the officer places them in cuffs, Iglesias called upon his Miranda rights, and was ultimately charged with obstruction without violence, along with driving with a suspended license.

As for the passenger, Tabuyo “stated he does not know why he switched seats” with the singer. He was also charged with obstruction without violence.

Enrique Iglesias got his driving license suspended after a traffic stop in Miami-Dade County on May 6. Both he and Tabuyo pleaded guilty for the charges, and now Iglesias is waiting for a July 10 court hearing.
