Good news for all Ed Sheeran fans out there. The British songwriter recently announced that he will be making a cameo role in one of the most anticipated comedies of 2016, “Bridget Jones’s Baby”.
Ed took to Instagram to announce the big news as she shared a cute photo of himself alongside Renée Zellweger, the actress who is about to reprise one of her most famous roles.
“Spent the day being an actor in the new Bridget Jones movie,” the singer wrote in the caption. “Loved it, you’re gonna love it too.”
The Movie
It will instead be based on the columns the author wrote some 8 years ago.
The plot focuses on the 50-something Bridget, a journalist working at Sit Up Britain, who tries to balance her work and being a devoted mother of two.
The upcoming movie will feature more famous people. Aside from Renée and Ed, Colin Firth is also back as Mark Darcy, and Patrick Dempsey also confirmed his role. “Nice to be working in England,” Dempsey wrote on Instagram.
“Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with! A good couple of days rehearsing at Pinewood Studios. I really like it here!”
Hugh Grant, however, won’t be reprising his famous role as he reportedly didn’t like the script all that much.
