The last episode of “Chelsea Lately” hosted by Chelsea Handler aired last night. Many celebrities, including actresses Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock and singers Miley Cyrus, Dave Grohl, Gwen Stefani, 50 Cent, and Selena Gomez appeared on the final episode of “Chelsea Lately,” which debuted on E! in 2007.
The episode was filmed live, specially for the occasion. It was usually taped in the afternoon. A bunch of celebrities sang a spoof of “We Are The World” at the end of the show.
Handler’s program usually included jokes, and participating in a discussion with other staff writers or stars about topics of the day.
People who often appeared in the discussion segment included Whitney Cummings of the NBC program “Whitney” and Mary Lynn Rajskub of the Fox show “24.”
Handler would also interview that night’s guest and throw in a few more jokes.
Handler announced this June that she will be heading to Netflix, where she will not only have a talk show but will also release four “docu-comedy” specials and a stand-up special.
Chelsea said that she is proud of herself and that the last time she stuck around somewhere for 7 years was during high school.
“I’m really really appreciative to E! for giving me this opportunity to do the show and I never really got a chance to be serious and say thank you. I’ll see you on Netflix.”
