It is official – Charlie Sheen has confirmed that he is HIV positive. The actor has recently been speaking on the Today show, when he decided to put an end to all the rumors that have been circling around, or the way he put it: “to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and sub-truths”.
The interesting thing is that he also said he was “not entirely sure” how he contracted the virus.
This is the first time the star has talked in public about being HIV positive, but he said he did tell a few trusted people in his circle, including his ex-wives Brooke Mueller and Denise Richards.
“It’s a relief to release myself from this prison today,” said Charlie, admitting he had to deal with many a blackmail threat from people ready to go out in public with this huge story.
“What people forget is that it’s money that they are taking from my children. They think it’s just me, but I have got five kids and a granddaughter.”
During the interview, Sheen’s physician Dr Robert Huizenga, who was also a guest on the Today Show, confirmed that the actor IS HIV positive, but that he does not have AIDS.
