Born January 1, 1968, Prince Felipe is the third son born to King Juan Carlos and his wife Queen Sofía of Spain. He is the heir to the Spanish throne.
In 1992 Prince Felipe particapated in the Barcelona Olympic Games as a part of the sailing team. He also took part in the opening ceremony. He finished in sixth place.
On May 22, 2004 Prince Felipe married, his girlfriend of one year, Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, an award-winning television journalist formerly with CNN.
The couple have two children, Princess Leonor born Oct. 31, 2005 and Princess Sofía born Apr. 29, 2007.
