Li Lian Jie was born in Beijing, China on 26 April 1963. Jet Li was World Champion for several times in Martial Art and also won five Gold Medals in Chinese Championships. He got his training from Beijing Wushu Academy. At the age of 11 he won the first Gold. Jet Li is the biggest Asian movie star after Jackie Chan.
At the age of 20 Jet Li was starred for his debut movie Shao Lin Tzu in 1979 and the English version was Shaolin Temple. His first biggest block buster was Wo Hu Cang Long (Crouching Tiger) in the year 2000. He had the biggest fan-club in Hong Kong, well known for his 1990's Kung-Fu boom. He announced that his upcoming martial art movie Hua Yuenjia english name Fearless will be his last martial art movie. Li lent his voice to Kit Yun for the movie Rise to Honor in 2003. He played as a real life legend in his semi-fictional movie Chen Zhen and in Huo Yuan Jia. Li, Yuen and Chan worked together to create a film that would satisfy both fans of Bruce Lee, fans of Jet Li and also gather some more new fans, in which they come up with new style of Wire-Fu which seemed to be if they are shooting fireballs, flying and other exaggeration movements, in which hidden wires and camera tricks were used.
Li got injured his foot while he was escaping the Tsunami the earthquake in an Indian Ocean, where he was on vacation on Maldives with his family. And in 2000 he was sustained with the bruised ribs when he was doing the fight stunts with the co-star Anthony Anderson for the movie Romeo Must Die.
Jet Li won the Golden Horse Film Festival Award (1995) as a Special Award for the category For a Main Land Person. He also won Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards (2007) for the Best Actor for the movie Huo Yuan Jia (2006).
