Initially Jennifer Grey did small roles in the movies like American Flyers and The Cotton Club. Her first big break was the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, in this movie she plays the role of an angry sister named Jeannie.
Her first biggest role was in the movie 'Dirty Dancing' with Patrick Swayze, she had done another movie with him before called 'Red Dawn'.
Some of her other movies were The West Side Waltz, this movie also had some well known actors like Kathy Bates, Shirley Macclain, Liza Minnelli. This TV movie had been written by Ernest Thompson.
