Jennifer Beals has acted in more than 50 movies throughout her career. Her career started from the movie Flashdance, where she played the role of Alexandra 'Alex' Owens. She later went on to do movies like Mrs. Parker and Vicious Circle, The thief and the Cobbler, The Twilight of Golds, Vampire's Kiss, Grudge II, television movies like 'They Shoot Divas Don't They?', 13 Moons, etc.

Throughout her career she has been friends with actors like Quentin Tarantino and Marlee Matlin and stayed friends up to date. She has also worked with Tarantino in the movie Four Rooms. Tarantino often stayed at her home before he got successful with this movie Pulp Fiction. Her latest movie was in the year 2006 named Troubled Waters.

At present she is acting in a sitcom where she plays an educated lesbian called 'The L Word'. The name is her character in the sitcom is Bette Porter. Jennifer Beals prior to moving to acting was also a teen model.
