Jena Malone took interest into acting after being inspired by her mother, for this she initially moved to Las Vegas a place she did not like, so she moved on to Los Angeles. She has an award winning debut in 1996 with the movie 'Bastard Out of Carolina'. The role in this movie got her a nomination for Best Debut Performance from the Independent Spirit Award and Actors Guild also nominated for Award for Outstanding Performance in a movie or Miniseries. In the year 1997, her movie 'Hope' again got her nomination for Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or a Television movie.
Jena Malone has also co-produced and acted in a movie called 'American Girl' in 2002. She has also done her stage debut in a Broadway debut called 'Doubt' in 2007.
Jena Malone is on her way to release her music album with just two soundtracks under a label called Social Registry, this is her first experimental music release.
