Biography
Jeff Daniels is a musician who is also known for his roles in movies like The Purple Rose of Cairo, Terms of Endearment, Gettysburg, Arachnophobia and Dumb & Dumber . Jeff Daniels was born on February 19, 1955 in Athens, Georgia.
Early years
Daniels grew up in Chelsea, Michigan, where his father worked in a local lumber yard. It was a difficult childhood for Jeff Daniels, but things became a little more easy after his father bought the lumberyard at which he used to work.
Jeff Daniels attended the Central Michigan University, and also worked part time as a stage actor to earn his own living. He soon got respect as a stage actor in and outside of New York. His very first performance was in The Shortchanged Review (1979) at Second Stage Theatre.
Career
Daniels acted in a few films and is remembered by the powerful performances he gave in his few films. Although primarily, Jeff Daniels was a dramatic actor and a theatre performer, some of Daniels' most well-known scenes are from the comedy Dumb & Dumber, in which he gets his tongue stuck to a ski-lift and has an attack of explosive diarrhea.
Personal life
Jeff Daniels married his child sweet heart - Kathleen Treado, whom he had been dating since grade 10, 1979. the couple has three children: Benjamin (b. 1984), Lucas (b. 1987), and Nellie (b. 1990). Jeff Daniels is also a die hard base ball fan and has a strong belief in the number 13. Daniels married Treado on Friday the 13th because he wore the number 13 on his baseball uniform.
He is currently residing in his home, in Chelasea. He has also founded a theater company - , a not-for-profit professional theatre company. Recently, he worked in Escanaba in da Moonlight and Super Sucker. He was inducted into the Michigan Walk of Fame on May 25, 2006 in Lansing, Michigan.
