Biography
Jean-Michel André Jarre is a French composer, performer and music producer. He was born on July 24th, Louis, France and is very well known and regarded as the leaders who introduced the Electronic and New Age music styles to the music industry. He has set up records of record-breaking outdoor shows which feature some of the best combinations of laser displays and fireworks with great environment and architecture.
He has sold an estimated 80 million albums and singles over his career.
Early life
Jean-Michel André Jarre belonged to the family of musicians. His father Maurice Jarre, was a famous music composer and a member of the French resistance during the World War II. His father left him to pursue his career in Hollywood but he had already learnt piano under his guidance.
Career
Jean-Michel André Jarre's career took a start with the album Oxygen, released in 1968. his first solo song La Cage in 1972, and two albums Deserted Palace Les granges Brulées were hit for the following year.
Jean-Michel André Jarre released his second album soon in 1978, - Equinoxe. This time he brought out more sophisticated sound, taking much help from dynamic and rhythmic elements. He also organized some concerts in Paris, which attracted one million people, which was Jarre's first entry in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest crowd at an outdoor concert.
In 1986, he was invited by NASA and the city of Houston to do a concert to celebrate NASA's 25th anniversary and the city of Houston's 150th anniversary. During that concert, astronaut Ronald McNair played the saxophone part of Jarre's piece Rendez-Vous VI while in orbit on board the Space Shuttle Challenger.
He is planning to release a new original studio album, by the end of 2007 apart from some TV shows.
Personal life
Jarre has had a tumultuous married life with four divorces and three children from these marriages. Last, he married French actress Anne Parillaud in May 2005.
