Early Life
Jean Louisa Kelly, born on March 9th 1972, is a well known actress and singer. Raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, she belonged to a middle class family. Her father was a English Professor and her mother a singer. She graduated from Columbia University's Columbia College with a B.A. in English.
Before joining college, Jean already did some small roles in Sondheim's Into the Woods and in the film Uncle Buck with John Candy. She was also active in her college and was a regular with the drama and the theatre group.

One of her most noticed college production role was with the Barnard Gilbert and Sullivan Society.

Career

Soon, Jean Louisa Kelly graduated in 1995 and she starred in the musical hit of the year - The Fantasticks with Joey McIntyre and Joel Grey. Her most important role that established her as an actor was her role as Rowena Morgan, the muse for the title character of Mr. Holland's Opus.

Jean got more of television roles than movies. She also appeared in tv series and commercials for MCI long distance, in which she had to essay the role of a telephone operator who challenged AT&T.
She recently appeared in some comedy roles as a first guest in the show - Mad about You. She was filmed as a cast member of a short documentary on one of the news channels. On April 30, 2006 she guest starred in the ABC drama Grey's Anatomy.
Jean Louisa Kelly is presently living in Los Angeles with her husband, entertainment lawyer James Pitaro, and is the mother of a 2-year old son, Sean. Jean Kelly also nurtures a close friendship with actress Jennifer Garner.

Her last appearance as an actor was in the spring of 2000, in a NBC 1 hour drama "Cold Feet". Currently Jean is doing the comedy on CBS "Yes, Dear".
