Jean-Louis Trintignant is a French actor, born on December 11, 1930 in Vacuous, France. His family moved to Paris, France, where Jean-Louis Trintignant took the opportnuity to study theatre and drama.
Early life
Jean-Louis Trintignant belonged to a wealthy family, and was raised around racing cars and automobiles. His early acting career was put interrupted by the military service he had to serve.
Private Life
Jean-Louis Trintignant was married to Nadine Marquand, for about 30 years. The couple has a daughter who is herself an actress and performed at the age of 17 years of age performed in La Terrasse alongside her father and had become a very successful actress in her own right.
Career
Director Claude Lelouch casted Jean-Louis Trintignant in his film for the role of a race car driver in Un homme et une femme, a global success that made him an international star.
He made his first debut in 1951 and was considered as one of the finest French actors of the post war era. His first motion picture was "And God Created Woman" opposite Brigitte Bardot directed by Roger Vadim's. He played a role of a young attorney in the film The Conformist, directed by Bertoucci's and earned the Best Actor award at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Trintignant had significant health problems and could not work more. He suffered bad health due to a car accident. His 1994 role in the late Krzysztof Kie?lowski's last film, Three Colors: Red marked a rare appearance for him but still earned him a César Award nomination for Best Actor.
In the year 2006, he has lent his voice to the popular La Cité des Enfants Perdus, and has made films only occasionally since. At present, Jean-Louis Trintignant focuses only on theatre and stage shows.
