Biography
A Bassist by qualification and a lead member for the band group Metallica. He was the whole and soul for the group. Born in Battle Creek, MI, USA, on 4th March, 1963. Jason attended Gull Lake High School in Richland, Michigan. In addition to be Bassist, Newsted was also the main lyricist of the band. The major success was received by the band in 1988 with the release of album And Justice For All which based on prog-metal concept.

Jason joined up with Flotsam and Jetsam in 1982. Newsted earned the credit for the sole lyricist in the opening album "Blackened". It was going very well for Newsted with the colleagues Flotsam and Jetsam, with them his future seems bright, despite of good going he make choice to get into Metallica. In 1988, the Prog-Metal Concept album And Justice For All released, it earned the huge success, it has all the hit numbers. In 1991, band was became the most popular rock band for the world, over 10 million copies were sold in US alone. Some misconception was arisen in the band when Newsted started side project named "Echo Brain" in 2000. And in 2001 in the interview with magazine Playboy, confirmed that he will not further be the part of band, due to private and personal reason. Jason joined Voivod in 2002, which was a Canadian metal group and makes a debut with the album The Multiverse which was released on March 2003. Jason than joined the group Rock Star Supernova in July 2006, band includes Gilby Clarke and Tommy Lee, while Lukas Rossi was the main singer of the band. Jason became the member for organization Little Kids Rock in 2003, this organization works to teach children about music and musical instrument, this is a non profit organization which does the social activity in USA.
