Biography
Jared Leto is an actor who has appeared in several critically acclaimed movies over a decade plus long career. In addition to acting in film roles, Jared Leto is a musician, playing rhythm guitar and singing in the rock band "30 Seconds to Mars". Jared Leto is best known for acting in the movies "Fight Club" and "Requiem for a Dream", and for his stint on the teen drama TV series "My So-Called Life".
Jared Leto was born in Bossier City, Louisiana in the year 1971. His birthday is the twenty sixth of December. After studying at several schools during his high school education: Longfellow Middle School in McLean Virginia, Newton North High School, Flint Hill School and Emerson Preparatory School in Washington D.C., Jared Leto attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he majored in painting and filmmaking, respectively.
In 1992, at the age of 21, Jared Leto moved to Los Angeles, California. Two years later, Jared Leto was cast as Jordan Catalano on the teen drama "My So-Called Life". The show ended before long, but was frequently repeated on MTV and gained in appeal over the years. In 1996 and 1997, Jared Leto was listed in People Magazine as one of the fifty most beautiful people. During the late nineties Jared Leto started finding quality film roles in "Prefontaine" (where he starred as track athlete Steve Prefontaine), "Urban Legend", "The Thin Red Line" (with a huge ensemble cast including George Clooney, John Cusack, Nick Nolte, John Travola, Sean Penn, Adrien Brody and many more), "Fight Club", "Girl, Interrupted", "American Psycho", "Requiem for a Dream" and "Panic Room".
As of early 2007 Jared Leto continues to work in film, having recently appeared in 2005's "Lord of War" as the brother of an arms dealer played by Nicholas Cage. He has also been active in the band "30 Seconds to Mars" with his brother Shannon, and they went on their first headlining tour in 2006.
