Jamie Lynn Spears is an actress. She is the younger sister of pop superstar Britney Spears. Her most notable television role has been as the star of the series "Zoey 101", a Nickelodeon show about one of the first girls attending a previously all male boarding school.
Jamie Lynn Spears was born in Kentwood, Louisiana in the year 1991. Her birthday is the fourth of April. As the sister of Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn Spears was able to find acting work easily at a young age. She first appeared on TV in 2001 at the age of ten on "Total Britney Live". The next year, Jamie Lynn Spears was in the Britney Spears movie "Crossroads" essentially playing herself as Britney's younger sister in a small part.
For the next two years, Jamie Lynn Spears started appearing in Nickelodeon shows like "All That", a sketch comedy / variety show that has been compared to Saturday Night Live and in prior seasons launched the careers of Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, and "On-Air Dare", a skit where she had to do disgusting dares like drinking human sweat and eating blue cheese dressing.
Jamie Lynn Spears' most popular role so far has been as the lead character of "Zoey" on the Nickelodeon show "Zoey 101". The theme song for the show was written by Britney Spears and performed by Jamie Lynn Spears. "Zoey 101" was the Nickelodeon network's biggest premiering show in nearly a decade, and was nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program.
As of early 2007 Jamie Lynn Spears continues to appear on Nickelodeon. Besides her regular appearance on "Zoey" she makes frequent talk show appearances and she has recently won the 2006 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite Female TV Actress and Favorite Female TV Star.
