Jamie Cullum was born in Essex, England in the year 1979. His birthday is the twentieth of August. Jamie Cullum first became interested in playing music when he was thirteen, and taught himself to play the piano, guitar and drums. He recorded his first self published album when he was twenty, and after graduating from the University of Reading two years later in 2001, made his first major label release with the album "Pointless Nostalgic" on Candid Records. His major label debut was a top seller and got him signed to Universal.
The next album that Jamie Cullum released was "Twentysomething", which became the best selling jazz artist studio album in the history of the United Kingdom music industry. Many of the tracks on the album are jazz standards and covers, and the track listing includes Jimi Hendrix's "Wind Cries Mary", Cole Porter's "I Get a Kick Out of You", "I Could Have Danced All Night", "Old Devil Moon", "What a Difference a Day Made", "These Are the Days" and "Singing in the Rain".
Jamie Cullum's performances incorporate beatboxing and devices like stomp boxes in addition his singing and piano playing.
