Jaime Pressly is a model and actress. Like many successful models she has made the transition from the fashion modeling world into a television and film acting career. Unlike many, she has been well reviewed in her acting roles and nominated for the Emmy Award. She is currently best known for appearing in an ongoing role as the character of Joy Turner in the sitcom "My Name is Earl".
Jaime Pressly was born in Kingston, North Carolina in the year 1977. Her birthday is the thirtieth of July. As a child, she grew up learning dancing and gymnastics. Her modeling career started when she was in her early teens, and she quickly became well recognized in America as well as internationally, becoming the spokeswoman for International Cover Model Search.
In 1997 at the age of twenty, Jaime Pressly started her acting career. Her first film roles were in movies that flopped, "Poison Ivy: The New Seduction" and "Ringmaster" (the Jerry Springer movie). It was around this same time that Jaime Pressly was photographed several times for Playboy related books. Somewhat more successful films that Jaime Pressly then found in film included "Joe Dirt" (a David Spade comedy), "Not Another Teen Movie", and "Torque". She has recently found critical acclaim with her character of Joy Turner on "My Name is Earl", a sitcom about a man who makes a list of everything bad he has ever done and goes back to make things right. For this role in "My Name is Earl", Jaime Pressly was nominated for a 2006 Emmy Award.
As of early 2007 Jaime Pressly continues to appear in "My Name is Earl" on NBC. She has also recently appeared in a starring role in the movie "DOA: Dead or Alive", based on a series of popular one on one fighting video games; however the movie has flopped spectacularly.
