Biography
Jacqueline Bisset is an actress. She has had an extensive film acting career for four decades. Among her best known roles in America are a part as a "Bond girl" in the 1967 James Bond movie spoof "Casino Royale", and an appearance in the 1977 movie "The Deep" that has been said to have made wet t-shirt contests popular. She has been nominated for the Golden Globe and the Cesar Award, the French equivalent of the American Academy Award.
Jacqueline Bisset was born in Weybridge, Surrey in the year 1944. Her birthday is the thirteenth of September. When Jacqueline Bisset was young she learned ballet dancing. In 1968, she started fashion modeling at the age of sixteen to help her mother after her parents divorced. She also took acting lessons during her teenage years and found her first film role in the 1967 movie "Two for the Road".
After a number of films during the late sixties and early seventies which included "Casino Royale", "The Detective", and "Day for Night", Jacqueline Bisset had developed a reputation as a series actress in Europe. She became well known in America in 1977, when the movie "The Deep" became phenomenally successful largely thanks to Jacqueline Bisset's appearance in an underwater swimming sequence while wearing a t-shirt. Newsweek called Jacqueline Bisset the most beautiful actress of all time from that appearance, and she became a household name.
Since then, Jacqueline Bisset has appeared in many well received movies for theatrical and televised release such as "Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe?", "Rich and Famous", "Under the Volcano", "La Ceremonie", and "America's Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story".
As of early 2007 Jacqueline Bisset continues to work in film as an in-demand character actor. Recently she has made an ongoing appearance in the cable drama "Nip/Tuck" as the mysterious James.
