Isaac Hanson is a singer. He is best known for being a member of the band Hanson, that enjoyed fleeting commercial success in the late nineties with their single "MMMBop".
Isaac Hanson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the year 1980. His birthday is the seventeenth of November. He is the oldest brother in a family with seven children. As a pre-teen, Isaac Hanson formed the band "Hanson" with his brothers Zac and Taylor, and they played their first live show in 1992. After shifting around various instruments the three brothers became a garage band, with Isaac Hanson playing guitar, Taylor playing keyboards and Zac on drums. They produced two independent albums, "Boomerang" and "MMMBop" before being signed by Mercury after a gig at the Kansas State Fair. In 1997, Mercury released Hanson's debut commercial album "Middle of Nowhere", and the band became internationally famous on the strength of the single "MMMBop" which quickly reached number one on both sides of the Atlantic. Due to their young ages and clean cut appearance, Isaac Hanson and his brothers were marketed to young girls in "Tiger Beat" and other teen magazines. For between two and three years the band was highly successful and toured extensively.
Since "MMMBop", Hanson has been unable to match their former success. Their second album "This Time Around" sold very few copies and caused the label to stop supporting Hanson's 2000 tour. Hanson went back to being an independent band, starting their own label and dealing with distributors for various parts of the world directly. They are currently managed by 10th Street Entertainment, whose clients include Blondie and Meatloaf. Their Live and Electric tour in 2005 was a success.
As of early 2007 Isaac Hanson continues to play in the band Hanson. Also, since the end of September 2006 he has been married to Nicole Dufresne, a girl that he met at one of his concerts.
