Biography
Henrik Larsson is a world famous Swedish football (American soccer) player. He is best known for his years with the Scottish football club Celtic F.C.

Henrik Larsson was born in Helsingborg, Sweden on September 20, 1971. He began playing professional football at the age of 17 when he joined the Hogaborg team. Soon after he moved to Helsingborgs IF. There he scored 50 goals in 56 appearances, which attracted the attention of a Dutch club owner who signed him to play for the Celtic team in 1993. With the club he scored 242 goals in 315 matches, making him the third all-time record goal scorer. This is despite the fact that he missed nearly a full year of play after a bad leg break.

In 2001, he won the Golden Boot award and led his club to the UEFA Cup Final. He club lost. After leaving the Celtic club, he joined the Barcelona club where he won the Champions League. In 2006, he left that team to return to him hometown club of Helsingborgs IF. Later that year he signed to be "on loan" to Manchester United. After the 2006 World Cup he announced his retirement, but it is rumored that club bosses are trying to lure him back into playing.

In 2003 the Swedish Football Association named Henrik Larsson the "greatest Swedish football player of the last 50 years". In 2005 he received an honorary degree from the University of Strathclyde and in May 2006 was given the honor of MBE by the British Consulate in Barcelona for his contributions to British football.
