Heather Locklear is an American actress and model who is best known for her role as Amanda Woodward on the Fox television series Melrose Place.

Heather Locklear was born in Westwood, California on September 25, 1961. She is the youngest of four children and in a cousin of Marla Maples, Donald Trump's second wife. She was married to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee from 1986-1993 when the two divorced. In 1993 she married Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. The two had a daughter in 1997. In 2006, the couple divorced.

Heather Locklear was discovered while attending the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1979 she landed her first television role on the series CHiPS. A small role on the series Eight Is Enough followed and in 1981 she was cast in the nighttime soap opera Dynasty. In 1982 she landed a role on the cop series T.J. Hooker; she worked on the two series simultaneously throughout the 1980s.

Heather Locklear left television for a few years in the early 1990s before she was cast as bad girl Amanda Woodward in the Fox nighttime soap opera Melrose Place. The role garnered her First American in the Arts award for Best Actress in a TV Series. After Melrose was cancelled, Heather Locklear landed a role on the sitcom Spin City. In 2004 she began starring in the short lived drama series LAX.

Heather Locklear has also seen success at the box office, starring in movies such as The First Wives Club, Uptown Girls and The Perfect Man. In 2007 she starred in the made for television movie Angels Fall based on the novel by Nora Roberts.

Heather Locklear served as a spokeswoman for the Health and Tennis Corporation of America for several years.
