Biography
Heather Headley is a Grammy Award nominated and Soul Train Award winning R&B singer and actress. She is best known for her songs "I Wish I Wasn't", "In My Mind" and "Me Time".

Heather Headley was born in Port Of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on October 5, 1974. She began playing and singing music as a young child. Her family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA when she was 15 years old. She graduated from Northrop High School and later attended Northwestern University in Chicago where she studied communications and musical theatre. In 1997 she was cast in the Broadway musical The Lion King. In 2000 she was cast in a Broadway adaptation of Aida. The role earned her a Tony Award for Best Actress. More recently she appeared in the concert version of Dreamgirls.

In 2002, she released her debut album from RCA Records. This Is Who I Am. Her second single "I Wish I Wasn't" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. She was also nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy. The same year, she was nominated for and won two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards. She won R&B/Soul Album of the Year for This Is Who I Am and Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist for the song "He Is". In 2003, Heather Headley was supposed to release her second album called In My Mind, but there were delays. The album was finally released in 2006. The dance mix version of "In My Mind", the title track, reached number one on the dance charts.

In 2006, she sang "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" at The Kennedy Center Presents: The 2006 Mark Twain Prize to honor playwright Neil Simon.

Heather Headley is married to former New York Jets football player Brian Musso.
