Biography
Hayden Panettiere is a Grammy-nominated actress and singer who is best known for her childhood roles on ABC and CBS television soap operas. Her role as a supernatural cheerleader on the television series Heroes has widened her fan base.
Hayden Panettiere was born in Palisades, New York on August 21, 1989. At eight weeks old, she appeared in her first television commercial, and as a child landed a role on the ABC soap opera One Life To Live. She played Sarah Roberts on the television show before moving networks to play Lizzie Spaulding on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light. As Lizzie, Hayden Panettiere portrayed a battle with leukemia, which received a Special Recognition Award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
In 1998, Hayden Panettiere broke into film with a role in The Object of My Affection. Several more movie roles followed including the high school sports drama Remember the Titans in 2000, Joe Somebody in 2001 and Raising Helen in 2004. In 2005, she starred in Racing Stripes and Ice Princess, and in 2006 made a move to television, taking on the role of a supernatural healer on the NBC television series Heroes.
In addition to her work in television and film, Hayden Panettiere is the voice of Kairi, the leading role in the Kingdom Hearts video game series. She is also a spokesperson for Neutrogena.
In 1998, she voiced the role of Dot in A Bug's Life. She was nominated for a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for Children for A Bug's Life Read-Along. Hayden Panettiere has sung on several movie soundtracks, including tracks for The Dust Factory, Ice Princess and The Bridge to Terebithia. Her debut album is due out in 2007.
