Biography
Gina Philips is recognized mostly these days for her role as Jenna Miller on the hit television series Boston Public created by David E Kelley.
But her acting career started long before she found this fulltime gig.
After attending a performing arts high school and later the University of Pennsylvania for a few years before dropping out to pursue acting jobs, Philips moved to Los Angeles to be discovered by numerous television producers who wanted her for shows like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Ally McBeal, Sliders and the made-for television movie Born Into Exile which was about two lovers seeking solace from their problems.
Philips has also been featured in many films that included a 1994 independent musical called Rave, Living Out Loud where she played alongside Holly Hunter, Queen Latifah and Danny DeVito as his dying daughter, and Dancing to a Different Beat, a story about characters who attempt to test the limitations they encounter in their lives.
By 1996, she was working on the film adaptation of Danielle Steel's novel No Greater Love. One year later, Philips was featured in the film The Advocate's Devil.
Her additional film credits include Sight Unseen opposite Jeremy London and Christine Taylor and When the Bough Breaks where she works with Ally Walker and Martin Sheen.
Her biggest grossing film is reported to be the horror classic Jeepers Creepers which earned a great deal of attention as one of the all-time scariest movies. Written by Victor Salva, the movie is about a brother and sister who are driving home for spring break and encounter a flesh-eating creature in the isolated countryside that is on its last day of its ritualistic eating spree.
Recently, Philips played to a series of sold-out shows for The Vagina Monologues at LA's Canon Theatre. She also starred in the independent comic drama The Anarchist's Cookbook alongside Devon Gumersall and Dylan Bruno.
