Biography
Whoever said Hollywood didn't hold its fair share of ex-beauty pageant queens was fooling herself.
Gena Lee Nolin is quite open about the fact she is former Ms. Las Vegas after entering the city's beauty pageant before she finished high school.
From there she went on to be recognized for her looks after having won awards like Look of the Year and Miss Barbizon USA. But even then she recognized, she would not make it big where she was.
So she left her hometown roots after graduation in search of an acting job in Los Angeles as well as a career back-up, interior design. Acting hit first, albeit small parts. The real success didn't start happening until she found Bob Barker was looking for beauties for his show The Price is Right.
With her face on a popular show, she was able to soon land a young blonde model role on the daytime soap The Young and the Restless.
From there it was going to be Baywatch, or Babewatch to many. The show's blonde lifeguard Pamela Anderson was leaving to pursue her new show VIP and producers needed another vivacious blonde for the role.
Nolin only learned she had the part when actor/producer David Lee Hasselhoff decided to throw her an innertube with the words, "surprise, you got the part."
By 2000. Nolin was going to surprise everyone with her announcement to leave the show even after her character married Hasselhoff. Like Anderson, she was off to star in her own series, Sheena.
Two short years later Sheena was cancelled. Two years after that, Nolin marriage was on the rocks. She divorced her husband of that time and began dating NHL hockey player Cale Hulse. That same year she married Hulse at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. Their son, Hudson Lee Hulse, was born April 15, 2006.
