Biography
Although an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Gackt ,or Gaku-chan as some like to call him, didn't always appreciate his talent.
At the age of three, his parents forced him learn piano, something he said he hated for years. Despite his dislike, he became very good at it along with playing a number of other instruments including guitar, drums, trombone, trumpet, bass and tuba.
He took this musical talent to the road and found other talented musicians to form the band GacktJOB which consisted of several members including You who played violin/rhythm guitar, Yukihiro Fujimura who performed lead guitar, Masa on rhythm guitar, Ren on bass, Toshi as the drummer, Yosh as their choreographer/dancer, and Igao on keyboards. GacktJOB later added Ryuichi Ryu Nishida on drums, and Ju-ken on bass.
Gackt is not as masterful with languages even though he says he is multi-lingual and can speak French and English fluently. He can however articulate Chinese as he was made speak it in the film Moonchild, a hit vampire movie that he co-wrote and co-starred in with Hyde, the vocalist of L'Arc-en-Ciel. Some say the two had a romantic relationship but Gackt denies this and refers to Hyde as his close friend.
In addition to music, Gackt has been involved in runway modeling throughout Europe and as an actor in various television commercials where he usually plays himself, and in the Japanese drama Hero's Hero.

He also is considered to be an author having written Moonchild Requiem. In 2003, he published his autobiography entitled Jihaju.
In early 2005, he was asked to write and perform the theme songs for the Gundam movie Zeta Gundam: A New Translation. The songs were 'Metamorphoze' and a rearrangement of a previously released song, Kimi ga Matteiru kara.
The self-proclaimed vampire is a pet lover and has both a cat and dog at home.
