Elsa Pataky is a Spanish actress that was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1976. She is a knowledgeable actress who is very fluent in a variety of languages including Spanish, French, English, and Romanian. When she originally went to college she attended the Universidad de San Pablo to study journalism; however, she decided to enroll in acting classes during this time. It would prove to be a move that would prove to be life altering.

Before too long she became a member of a theater company in Madrid known as the Teatro Camara de Angel Guitierrez where she began to hone her acting skills in front of a live audience. She was cat in a television series, Al Salir de Clase, in 1997 and decided to leave school for good in order to pursue her acting career full time.

After appearing in over one hundred and thirty episodes of Al Salir de Clase Elsa received an offer for the film El Arte de Morir in 2000. Elsa has appeared in several different films in Spanish, but recently she has begun to cross over into films from other countries. An example of this was the 2005 hit Iznogoud that was done in French. She also received a supporting role in an American film, the sneak hit of 2006, Snakes on a Plane, co-starring Samuel L. Jackson and directed by David Ellis. She has also received good reviews for her role as Alejandra, or 'Ninette', in the 2005 Spanish film Ninette.

Elsa is an energetic and outgoing women who enjoys rollerblading, snowboarding, and horseback riding as a means of relaxing and exercising.

The fact that Elsa has been able to cross over into so many films in different countries that were shot in different languages proves that she is a versatile actress that will be a global success.
