Born in South Africa in 1981, Elize Du Toit is a British actress who was named after her grandmother. Her family remained in South Africa until 1995 when Elize was fourteen years old. She studied at Wellington College for two years, but Elize actually seemed to stumble into acting while studying history at the University of Edinburgh.

It was in 2000 that she took part in an audition for the television show/soap opera, Hollyoaks. She actually beat out ten thousand other hopefuls for the part of Izzy Cornwell/Izzy Davies. Her role in the longstanding series was that of a moderately wealthy, attractive, blonde, student who attended the local college on the show.

She remained a member of the Hollyoaks cast for four years until she decided to leave in 2004 to pursue other career opportunities. During this time, She appeared in the pilot for a television series, but her career really seemed to take off in 2006 when she appeared in several different roles in television series and movies, including Flirting with Flamenco, Dalziel and Pascoe, and The Line of Beauty

She also starred in the BBC mini-series adaptation of The Line of Beauty as Sophie Tipper. She is currently working on films like Ecstasy, Homeland, and The Devil's Chair that are due to be released sometime in 2007. She also has a small role in the 2007 adaptation of Irvine Welsh's novel Ecstacy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance and has been rumored to appear in the third season of the new version of the science-fiction classic Doctor Who, on which she will play a villain.

Elize loves make up and reading, although she is often kept too busy to read as much as she would like. With her sultry good looks and talent, this up and coming actress is certain to make an impression within the industry and with her fans.
