Biography
Born in 1972, film star Elizabeth Berkley was five when her parents first enrolled her at Detroit Dance Company, and it wasn't long before she began to take part in several ballets. This line up included the impressive "Swan Lake" when she was only eleven years old, and she even starred in some musicals that required her to learn Italian.

With that kind of early dedication and devotion to her love of the dramatic, it was probably no surprise to those in Berkley's life when she was cast in a television movie a few years later or when she began receiving reoccurring roles in television series. Eventually she got the role of Jesse Spano in the television series Saved by the Bell. Berkley was only sixteen when she got the role and before she knew what was going on she found herself caught up in the unexpected whirlwind of the series' success.

After four seasons on Saved by the Bell, Berkley decided to leave the popular sitcom in order to pursue other screen opportunities as well as attend college. However, it was the 1995 release of the movie, Showgirls that eventually garnered her international attention for the racy role of Nomi Malone in the NC-17 rated film. Unfortunately it was not the type of attention she wanted, as the movie was a box office bomb that was panned by critics everywhere.

Since then Berkley managed to get a few significant roles in The Real Blonde, First Wives Club, Roger Dodger, and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion. She even got a role in the television series Titus during the show's third season before it was later cancelled in 2002. She has also made numerous memorable appearances in television dramas (NYPD Blue, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and CSI) as well as starred in the Off Broadway show Hurlyburly for which she has received good reviews.

In 2003 Berkley married painter Greg Lauren, nephew to the famous designer, Ralph Lauren, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
