Biography
Born in Germany in 1973, Elisabeth Rohm is an actress that has made a name for herself starring in television series and films since 1997. Even though Rohm's parents moved to the United States before she was a year old, she maintains dual citizenship in both Germany and the U.S. and has remained fluent in German. While neither of her parents were actors, her father was actually a corporate attorney, her mother did once write for the soap opera Guiding Light. Rohm's parents later divorced when Rohm was nine. Growing up Rohm was an avid horseback rider who began her equestrian affair at the tender age of five and continues to ride horses to this day.

When she attended college, Rohm went to Sarah Lawrence College in New York to study writing and European history. In 1997, though, Rohm was cast in her first major television role on One Life to Live. In 1999 she was cast in the reoccurring role of Detective Kate Lockley on the series Angel. She continued to appear in the popular underground series until 2001.

Her most well known character, though, has been her role as Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn on the hit television series, Law & Order. Rohm made a name for herself while working as Southerlyn from 2001 to 2005, starring in a total of eighty-six episodes. While working on Law & Order Rohm also garnered two award nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2002 and 2004 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Since leaving the series Rohm has appeared in films such as Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous and Aftermath, which is due out this year.

While Rohm has lived in New York for most of her life, she now splits her time between there and Los Angeles so she can be closer to any acting possibilities that come up.
