Elin Nordegren Bio (Biography)
Biography
Elin Nordegren was born in Sweden on January 1st, 1980. Elin is a former model, but she is more widely known as the wife of Tiger Woods.
The pair first met through Swedish golfer, Jesper Parnevik. It was during this time that Elin and her twin sister, Josefin, were working for Parnevik as nannies. Woods was then competing in the 2001 British Open when Parnevik introduced them. The pair hit it off and dated for a couple of years before Tiger proposed at the President's Cup in South Africa in 2003.
As sometimes happens with people who suddenly find themselves thrust into the spotlight, a conflict arose in Elin's life shortly after her relationship with Woods became public. It was during that time that some nude pictures surfaced. The people who released the photos claimed that they were of Elin. While she denied ever having posed in anything racier than a swimsuit pictorial, the rumor persisted until it was discovered that the pictures were actually of Playboy model, Kim Hiott, and that they had been taken for a 2000 edition of Playboy. Even after the true identity of the model was discovered an Irish magazine, The Dubliner, ran the photos just before the 2006 Ryder Cup claiming that they were indeed pictures of Elin. The Dubliner later issued an apology stating that the photo spread was meant to be a satirical commentary on tabloids.
A year after he proposed, the pair got married in October of 2004 in Barbados. However, the ceremony was not done in a church, but on the 19th hole of an exclusive golf resort. The outdoors wedding made it difficult for them to have it done in private. In order to assure that there was as little invasion as possible the couple rented out the entire hotel (two hundred rooms in all), as well as booked the island's helicopter charter company. In all the ceremony supposedly cost over one and a half million dollars. Elin and Woods are currently awaiting the arrival of their first child in the summer of 2007.
