Biography
Eddie Irvine is a former racecar driver from Northern Ireland. His parents were also racers, and they encouraged Irvine to purse the sport.

Irvine was born on November 10, 1965, in Newtownards in Northern Ireland. Due to his father's racing successes and the family's investments, Irvine was a millionaire before he even began racing.

In 1983, Irvine began his racing career, advancing through the ranks and joining Formula Three racing in 1988. He then made it into the top racing series in 1990 after racing for Jordan in the Formula 3000 series. He joined Jordan's Formula One team in 1993 and continued to do well. Ferrari signed him as Michael Schumacher's partner in 1996.

While Irvine did well in all of his racing during the 90s, 1999 would prove to be his most successful season ever. He won four races, including the Australian Grand Prix and the Malaysian Grand Prix before leaving Ferrari's team to join the new (and short-lived) Jaguar Racing team. While the racing team didn't last long due to financial problems, Irvine did gain prominence as the only driver to get Jaguar on the podium. After the Jaguar team folded, Irvine retired from racing in 2003.

In 2005, Irvine began talked with Minardi, but after the discussion fell through, he began working on his own Formula One racing time. However, he has yet to complete his team.

In addition to racing, Irvine has worked on several other projects. He appeared in the 2004 comedy "The Prince and Me" as himself, is the executive producer of a movie about Paddy Mayne, and took part in the 2006 Soccer Aid. Also in 2006, Irvine started his own Sky One television series that pitted two teams of celebrity drivers against each other. He also continues his property investments, owning over 40 properties world-wide.

Irvine has been listed on the Sunday Times Rich List, reaching number five on the April 2006 list. He also briefly dated supermodel and actress Pamela Anderson and is good friends with Bono, who taught Irvine to play the guitar.
