Biography
Drew Bledsoe is a football quarterback who has enjoyed some success with the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots. While he was a first draft pick in 1993, currently, Bledsoe is not signed to any time; the Dallas Cowboys released him on March 1, 2007.

Bledsoe was born on February 14, 1972, in Ellensburg, Washington. He attended the Washington State University, where he distinguished himself as a quarterback. Bledsoe then began his National Football League career in 1993 when he was selected as a first draft pick by the New England Patriots. He stayed with the team until 2001, when he moved to the Buffalo Bills. Bledsoe would change teams again in 2005, moving to the Dallas Cowboys.

Bledsoe's time with the Patriots earned him a number of records for the team, including records in Career Passing Yards and in Career Passing TDs. He also played in three bowls for the Patriots: 1995, 1997, and 1998, and played in another bowl game with the Buffalo Bills in 2003.

Bledsoe holds a number of other records as well. He is the fifth overall in career passes as of 2006 and has passing records in several areas. He also holds the record for the most pass attempts in a season, attempting 691 passes in 1994. He has also made four overtime touchdown passes, another NFL record.

Despite his obvious talent, Bledsoe's NFL career has recently been put on hold. While under contract with the Dallas Cowboys, Bledsoe played as the team's starting quarterback for the first couple of months of the 2006 season. However, in the eighth week, former head coach Bill Parcells replaced Bledsoe with Tony Romo, and on March 1, 2007, Bledsoe was released from his contract. As of this time, he has yet to be signed to another team.

In his home life, Bledsoe is married to Maura Healy, and the couple has four children: sons Stuart, John, Henry, and daughter Healy.
