Biography
Dougray Scott is an actor in both television and films from Scotland. He has been called the "Young Sean Connery" due to the two exhibiting a similar acting style and the fact that both hail from Scotland.

Scott was born on November 25, 1965 as Stephen Scott in Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland. Scott took a class in drama as part of the base requirements, and he enjoyed it so much that he enrolled at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. While there, he was named the 1987 Most Promising Drama Student.

Once he graduated, Scott began acting in theatre and making small television appearances. His first large role was on the television series "Soldier Soldier," and his first movie breakout role was in "Twin Town." These two roles led to more, and soon Scott was receiving larger roles in well-known films.

Scott gained huge international fame starring as the villain opposite Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible II." Since then, he has played the role of Moses in "The Ten Commandments" mini series and has appeared in nine episodes of the hit television series "Desperate Housewives" as the love interest for Teri Hatcher's character.

Scott has also gained a bit of fame for the two roles he didn't get. He was originally cast as the popular character Wolverine in the first "X-Men" live action movie, but because the filming on "Mission: Impossible 2" went two months over schedule, he was replaced by Hugh Jackman. He was also rumored to be at the top of the list to replace Pierce Brosnan as James Bond after "The World Is Not Enough." Brosnan, however, had the option to do a fourth Bond film in his contact, and that option was picked up. When the role was open again for "Casino Royale," Scott was once more mentioned as a forerunner, but Daniel Craig won the role.

Scott and his first wife, Sarah Trevis, married in April of 2000 and divorced in 2005. The two have one set of twins. As of 2007, Scott is engaged to actress Clair Forlani.
