Biography
Deana Carter was born on January 4, 1996 in Nashville, USA. She is the daughter of Fred Carter, Jr. She is known for making great country music. Even with the connections of her father, Deana still found it difficult to boost her career. It took some time before her career took off. She started at age 17 when she went around with her father in an attempt to get a record deal. When she was having trouble getting a music contract, she enrolled at the University of Tennessee and simply played for the love of singing instead of trying to pursue a career in music. This is probably the essence of music. If you really love what you do then you should simply do it for the sake of doing it and not doing it for something else. If you love basketball then simply play basketball and enjoy. In Deana's case, since she loved music then she simply did what she loved. Deana's first big break came during 1994 when she was asked to do a solo in the Farm Aid concert. On that same year, she was able to get a contract with Capitol Records. In 1996, Capitol released "Did I Shave My Legs for This?" Strawberry Wine was the first single to go to number one and it won the Country Music Award's single of the year in 1997. In 1997, she was also named one of the fifty most beautiful people in the world. 1997 was definitely a good year for her. She got married to Chris DiCroce but later divorced. In 2003, she relocated to Los Angeles and released the album "I'm Just a Girl." She released "The Story of My Life" through Vanguard Records in 2005. Deana has a son named Gray Hayes Hicky. He was born in September 2004. The father of the child is her boyfriend, Chris Hicky.
