Dean Cain was born on July 31, 1966 at Mount Clemens, Michigan. His mother is Sharon Thomas and his father is Roger Tanaka of the U.S. Army. He is one fourth Japanese, French Canadian, Irish, and Welsh. He stands six feet and three inches tall. His parents got divorced although his mother remarried film director Christopher Cain. Dean has a full brother from their original family named Roger Cain. He is a musician. Dean has a half sister from his step father named Krisinda Cain. She is also an actress. When Dean was growing up, he excelled a lot in Sports. He graduated in 1984 from Santa Monica High School. He went on to Princeton University and became the captain of the Volleyball Team. He also played on the NCAA football team at Princeton. While at Princeton, he dated Brooke Shields. Cain finished at Princeton in 1988 with a degree in History. Dean signed a contract with the Buffalo Bills, an NFL Team but during training, he injured his knee and ended up halting his football career. Since Dean would not be able to return to sports, he went on to doing acting gigs. This is what you call opening a door when another one closes. He was featured in shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and Grapevine. His biggest career break came when he got a stint to be Clark Kent. He is best known as an actor in his role as Superman in the television series "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." He co starred with Teri Hatcher. Aside from being Superman, he also hosts several shows like Ripley's Believe it or Not. Dean Cain has a son named Christopher with his former girlfriend Samantha Torres, a playboy model. He got engaged to Mindy McCready in the late 1990's but the marriage did not materialize.
