Biography
David Schwimmer was born on November 2, 1966 in New York. He was raised in Los Angeles, California. In sunny California, he had the privilege of studying at the famous Beverly Hills High School. After finishing high school, David decided that he was meant for a career in acting. David took up theater at Northwestern University. At Northwestern University, he even appeared in some of the dolphin shows there. This was something he probably did to get noticed for television. He didn't have to struggle much though. He had a lot of acting gigs right after college. He is best known for playing Ross Geller in the television series "Friends." There is a real Ross Geller at the Columbus State University. He has been teaching there since 1978. David is the tallest among all the Friends. David stands six feet and one inch tall. He won an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series" for Friends in 1995. He was the first cast member in Friends to receive this nomination. Aside from his role in Friends, David has appeared in many other films. He appeared in Ghost Busters in 1984. He was a salesman there. He appeared on a television show "A Deadly Silence" in 1989. In 1991, he was in Flight of the Intruder. In 1992 and 1993, he was in Crossing the Bridge, The Wonder Years, The Waiter, The Pitch, NYPD Blue, and Twenty Bucks. In 1994, aside from starting Friends, he was in Wolf and Monty. From 1995 to 2006, you can catch David on The Party Favor, The Pallbearer, Breast Men, The Thin Pink Line, Kissing a Fool, six Days Seven Nights, All the Rage, Picking up the Pieces, Hotel, Uprising, and Big Nothing. He is also known to do the voice of the giraffe in the animated motion picture Madagascar.
