Biography
David Hyde Pierce was born on April 3, 1959 in New York. He is the youngest among the four children of Laura Marie Hughes and George Hyde Pierce. His two older sisters are Barbara and Nancy. His older brother is Thomas. While David was growing up, he played a lot of piano at the local Bethesda Episcopal Church. He also did a lot of acting during High School. In fact, he was recognized as the best dramatic arts student. Despite all these awards in acting, he still pursued a degree in classical piano at Yale University. David's passion for music in high school fueled him to pursue such a degree. At some point in his tertiary education, he got bored playing the piano and shifted to a double major in English and Theatre Arts. He graduated in 1981. This degree will prove to be very important in his acting roles in the later chapters of his life. Before David become popular, he had to go through the struggling actor stage, like most actors do. When David graduated, he took odd jobs like working as a security guard and selling ties at Bloomingdales. These jobs never took his eye off the ball. He always pursued acting no matter what. David's big break happened during 1993 when he got a leading role in Frasier. Frasier became a hit television series in the nineties. In 1993, he was also cast in one of the movies that made the nineties very memorable, Sleepless in Seattle. Other movies where he can be seen are Addams Family Values, The Mighty Ducks, voice over in A Bug's Life, voice over in Treasure Planet, Full Frontal, Down with Love, and Hellboy. The career of David Hyde Pierce is full of highlights. He has been nominated for Emmy awards for eleven times already.
